Weekly Challenge | School Daze

It's time for a new challenge with Digital Delights by Louby Loo! This week at Delightful Challenges our challenge is School Daze! This is probably one of my most favorite times of the year! I love buying school supplies and school clothes! I love the excitement the kids have over new teachers and reconnecting with friends. It's the best--even with the hustle and bustle of getting everyone where they need to go. This year Sam wanted to bring cards to her teachers on the first day of school...I chose to use the OH SO CUTE School Time Molly (colored). I used the pre-colored so that I could make a bunch of cards fast and easy. Pairing it with the School Digital Paper Pack brings the card together and then all you need are a few die cut embellishments and you're all set! ~I hope you enjoy my card! Thank you for stopping by!

Celebrate Derby Days with Altered Pages

Spectrum Noir Pens  : OR3, GG1, GG2, PP1, IB2, TN4, DG2, CG2, PP4, GB1
The above Derby Day Fat Book collage was created using the 111D Vintage Hats Collage sheet and the 1025D Vintage Horses Collage Sheet. Both Sheets were printed using the BLACK ONLY option on the printer to give "black and white" images to colorize. I found that using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Based Markers to color these images--you will notice the horse in the middle is originally brown on the collage sheet and our lovely lady had a white shirt and a tea colored beverage. The background was a Bazzill Antiques Pad Dictionary Page and the alphabet letters were from Graphic 45. After coloring the images, I layered the pieces onto the fat book chipboard and used Antique Matte Mod Podge. Once dry I smeared on some brown pigment ink and heat set the color. Want 2 Scrap Pink Pearl Bling finished off the piece.
I hope you enjoy my Derby Day Fat Book Collage! Thank you for looking!

Independence Day ATCs with Want2Scrap & Sakura

With Flag Day and Independence Day quickly approaching, I knew I wanted to create some red-white-blue Altered Trading Cards using the Want-2-Scrap items that we were working with this month. My favorite line in the Want2Scrap products--besides the Dollar Bling--is all of the wonderful Mixed Media surfaces from Donna Salazar. For this project I focused on the Embellies products --canvas and chipboard ATC blanks.
Get Your Bling Here

For this project you need:
ATC in Chipboard (3 pack)  7x7 Canvas (2-pack)  Baby Bling Rhinestones Silver - 100 Count Silver - 2.5 mm
AlteredPages.com Collage Sheets
Sakura Hobby Crafts 3D Crystal Lacquer
Buttons, fancy fiber
Bazzill Basics Card Stock
Ranger Distressed Stain
Independence Day Crepe Paper

I began by cutting the canvas into ½" wide strips and then in half again so that they were 3½" long. I inked them with Ranger Stain in Brick Red. I dried them with the heat gun.

I rolled the strips around a bamboo skewer and glued them closed with Sakura Hobby Crafts 3D Crystal Lacquer. Some beads were finished off by tying a piece of fancy fiber around them.

I also rolled some 3/8" strips of blue card stock into little cylinders.I used Crystal Lacquer to hold the coil closed.
Sakura Crystal Lacquer was used as the only adhesive for the entire project.
I glued the blue card stock onto the chipboard bases with Crystal Lacquer and used the stain to edge the chipboard base.

The beads were then threaded onto a piece of fancy fiber and used as embellishments for my ATCs.

For this ATC, the striped crepe paper was gathered on the red side to form a bunting shape. Images were cut out of the alteredpages.com collage sheet and layered on the background with crystal lacquer. The bunting was gathered in the corner and adhered with crystal lacquer. The beads were wrapped around the card and tied. The buttons were glued on with crystal lacquer and bling was added as a final touch.

For this ATC, the striped crepe paper was gathered on a line of crystal lacquer on the side of the card. The beads were wrapped around the ruffle and tied on. The buttons and collage sheet cutout were adhered using crystal lacquer. Bling was added for a final touch.

Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed my ATCs!

Firecrackers and sprockets with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer and Want2Scrap

The laser-cut cover and nest-a-bling
Happy Monday! Today I am sharing with you another awesome product from Want2Scrap--Sakura Hobby Crafts is teaming up with their products this month for their projects. I saw this laser-cut chipboard album in their inventory and immediately knew I wanted to use it for Will's Firecracker 100 photos. For the last 3 years Will has participated in an annual cycling race/ride that occurs in our area. His first ride was 10 miles, he was 9 and he rode with his Dad. His last ride, last year he rode 26 miles solo. I am always amazed at his determination for this sport and proud of his accomplishments. This album was perfect for sharing that story and creating for him a book of memories.

I hope you enjoy my project!
