I Spy a Birthday!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I am sharing on the Cheery Lynn Blog a few more dies from the recent release. The I Spy binoculars are great! They are perfect for layouts involving sightseeing and hunting/target shooting themes. For a cheeky birthday card, they are great for spying a milestone birthday--"Lordy, lordy look who's 40!" I just couldn't resist. The binoculars are detailed with some pan pastel and glossy accents to bring out the features of the die cut. The Mirror Mirror Doily Frame is perfect to create a mirror to look into for this card. I cut it out of a beautifully colored coffee bag that I upcycled. To further accent the theme of time, I added the Gear Mesh to imply clock gears...as time passes.

Remember there is still time to join the new challenge!!! Challenge #157 is Give Thanks There is a chance to win a $20 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs. Thank you for stopping by today!

Spectrum Noir Pens and a new (to me) challenge

As many of you know, I received Spectrum Noir for my Birthday Present in March and my beautiful family members have been finding opportunities to add to my collection...I have loved using my BIC Mark-Its..and they served a purpose for a long time but I have been finding it difficult to replace my favorite markers in that collection. I have retired them for my regular digital stamp coloring as I have a strong preference for the Specturm Noir now.

Why Spectrum Noir and not Copic you ask?? It was a simple decision for me...their collection was smaller so actually achieving a point at which I owned them all was conceivable. They were priced perfectly at about HALF the Copic Marker. I also loved you could buy them in sets of 24 or in 6 packs, and of course there are refills and replacement nibs for your pens!!! YAY!
Why I LOVE them... The colors are beautiful and are plenty juicy! There are wonderful tutorials on their website and you can work on being a certified Spectrum Noir colorist on your own and send them in your work!! You don't have to pay for or attend a class--how cool is that!?!?! So...as I get a few more pens I will be working on becoming certified! :)

Spectrum Noir also has a monthly contest where you can use whatever stamps you like as long as you use ONLY Spectrum Noir Pens!!! I am thrilled--I can get some practice coloring with my new pens and potentially win MORE pens!!! Talk about WIN WIN! So this months challenge is all about Purple. Complete rules are here. I created this fun greeting card for a friend's birthday  using Digital Delights fantastic Pressie Josie stamp, Coredinations Cardstock and Beacon 3in1 adhesive to attach the papers and the ribbon! I hope you enjoy my card.

Wendy has created over 20 paper packs with a great variety of digital papers to please all types...they range in size from 4 papers to 8 papers and print out really nicely!
For this challenge I chose to work with the Circus Capers Paper and the Circus Digi stamps. I LOVE clowns and the circus...this weekend I realized I was sorely in need of BIRTHDAY cards! HA! Of all the cards I make each week, BIRTHDAY cards seem to be neglected! So for this week I bring you : Wishing You an Amazing Birthday!

Invitations for the Crafty Birthday Girl | Sam's 5th Birthday

This weekend is my daughter's 5th birthday party and she decided she needed a Crafty Party. There will be lots of crafts for her friends to do. Her daddy is making her a special crafting table and some of her favorite crafts have been collected for her birthday celebration! She had creative control of how her birthday card came together and she was quite pleased with the final result. I will be adding a scribd document here next week with complete instructions on making the cuts and folds on this card and possibly a video that will show how it can be modified for other shapes.
Front of Birthday invite closed
The card features Bazzill Basics and DieCuts With a View Cardstock and Miss Elizabeth pattern Paper. The paper doll is a Sizzix die as are the accessories [clothes, shoes, hair] The heart punch is Stampin up and the Swiss Dots texture is from a Provocraft emboss folder. The font for the card is called US and is free on DaFont.com. At her request, I wrote in hand "i love crafts" all the way around the cover of the card. The face was hand-drawn using the same Micron Pen and accented with brown marker and pink ink on an eraser for cheeks!

It's my Birthday Blog Hop 12-15 March 2011 | Card #1

Welcome to Jennifer Restivo's It's My Birthday Blog Hop! This celebration of Jennifer's birth runs from Saturday March 12-15th! There are 40 crafters with lots of cards to look at! Some will be showing more than one project during the hop, including me, so be sure to check back for new inspiration!
If you came to this hop from Laura's blog then you're in the right spot! If you wish to start from the beginning hop over to here.

My 1st card for this birthday celebration uses a cute House Mouse stamp and wonderful Paper Studio Birthday Extravaganza  Paper Stack and Bazzill Basics Cardstock.  I colored the stamped image with prismacolors and used the blending pencil to blend the colors. I used the Quickie Pen Glue to add ultrafine glitter touches to the flowers. A Stampin' Up Birthday sentiment and EK Success Circle Punch created the Happy Birthday wish. Basic Grey Bling matched the colors of the paper and of the Stampin Up Soft Suede ink that I used when distressing the edges of the stamped image.
I hope you enjoy! Thank you for looking!
Be sure to check below if you get lost on the hop. Lucy's blog is next on the list! Hop on over there to see her wonderful birthday creations!

KinderStampO's 34 Birthday Balloons and Counting Blog Hop

Hi everyone and Welcome to KinderStampO's 34 Birthday Candles and Counting Blog Hop. Today we have over 40 designers sharing atleast 40 fun birthday inspired projects too. If you arrive from Krista's Paper Cafe then you are in the right place. If you are just here visiting and want to start from the top click here

For Jessicas 34th birthday, I wanted to make her something special that could commemorate her special day and provide her with a space to write and document her thoughts on this occassion. I created a mixed mini album using diecut chipboard, coasters, and upcycled toilet paper rolls as the base. I assembled these items with my Bind-It-All, used beautiful Coordinations and Basic Grey papers, and included quotes that I specially formatted for everyone to download for personal use only. This book incorporated some of Jess's favorite elements including butterflies, chipboard, and the color brown! I hope you enjoy it Jess as much as I enjoyed creating.

I will be giving away a kit on Monday 24 January 2011 to do this very project yourself in honor of Jessica's birthday! To enter to win, follow my blog [either by selecting to follow my blog through the google button on the right, or through networked blogs on facebook] AND by leaving a comment below!

Thank you for looking! The next stop is PSA Stamp Company
