Removing a Pest from my Bloom

Early this year I began a venture of creating a product line with a company that from outward appearances was everything I wanted: family-owned, American-made and quality product. I created designs, produced production-ready files and publicly promoted their company and forged relationships for them with other companies I know and work with closely.
After months of conversations and work, I finally see an end-product and start getting really excited about my new chipboard product line being sold in major online stores. In the course of 6 hours, through a series of online exchanges, lies were uncovered. While I was willing to discuss to reach some sort of compromise where all parties could benefit, I was met with a barrage of back-peddling emails where everything "promised" was not only retracted but also "all previous conversations" were no longer valid. The conversation I was attempting to have in no way rated the reaction that I received.
Those of you who know me know I put a great deal of emphasis on integrity, honesty, and honor. If you are not true to your word then you are a liar, plain and simple. I cannot be a part of that.
What this means for you my loyal followers is that I no longer have affiliations with these people. They have not paid me for my designs. They are not theirs to sell. I have written a letter calling for them to cease production and sale of my product line.
I will not be lied to or bullied into something because someone has decided to retract everything they said--in essence the entire agreement. I am disappointed by this turn of events--I will not lie--BUT I have the desire to move forward and not to let this pest ruin my bloom. I know by the reaction of the online entities who wanted to purchase my product for their store that my designs are good and valued. I will find another way, an honorable way, to see my dreams realized., This is merely a pesky bug and will in no way effect my ability to thrive and bloom. Thank you for your time! Now let's move forward. Blooming.

Goodbye 2012~

Welcome to 2013!! I'm really looking forward to this year with a renewed spirit and energy. Before I share with you all of the exciting things that will come with the new year I want to take a moment to reflect. I like to spend the month of December-- and this year this process went into January--reflecting on the past...seeing what worked...what didn't...what could be improved upon.  This was a crazy year for me. I was offered many opportunities and I took on as many as I could. I met some amazing and talented friends and became inspired in new ways. If possible I became more of a social media junkie. I continued to desire to deliver crafts and art and hopefully inspired you along the way.
Below is a look back at some of projects that YOU said you loved by the amount of traffic that it created and some of MY favorite projects for the year 2012. I hope you enjoy!

leslierahye's very spooky Halloween Steampunk Blog Hop

Welcome to my 2nd annual Spooky Halloween Steampunk Blog hop!! I have collected a talented group of crafters and artists who all share a love for all things Halloween and all things Steampunk! I can't wait to see what everyone has brought to the hop! So let's get started!!!

The actual hop starts at midnight so if you are here early just hang out and visit for a spell while we all get our projects into our posts. I have a terrific friend helping me this time--Thank you VERY MUCH Fabrizio! It has been comforting knowing you are handling the details for me. With the personal things going on in my life I did not want to cancel this fun much anticipated blog hop so I am grateful for the support of my bloggy friends and especially Fab.

Here is my very Spooky Halloween Steampunk Card. I used my friend Vince's digital Steampunk Vampire--you can get them in black&white or colored HERE for F R E E ! I added crystal lacquer with gears, bling and mica powders to enhance his already amazing digital image. I completed my spooky card with a strip of embossed gears, Maya Road Copper Mists and black cheesecloth. I love how it turned out!

My projects shall be live a midnight but right now I just want to tease you with my giveaway! CutnPastememories.com has generously donated this wonderful acryllic Halloween Set. Along with that I'm going to include some fabulous Prima Craftsman Papers and a selection of gears, watch parts and other trinkets to inspire your Steampunk crafting! Viva Las VegaStamps! DT Tryout

My post today is two-fold.

Part One.Today on the Viva Las Vegastamps! Blog I share with you how the tremendous selection of stamps and sayings at VLVS make it my favorite stamp store for all my little celebrations! I've created a series of ATCs and a little magnetic tile for the little occasions in September that I love to celebrate! I pulled from my VLVS stash and found stamps to celebrate National Sewing Month, Talk Like a Pirate Day, Elephant Appreciation Day and the invention of the Safety Pin! How fun is that! The 19000+ stamps available through Viva Las Vegastamps! make celebrating EVERY occasion possible! Hop on over to the blog and check out my mini celebrations.

Part Two. I am also taking the opportunity to try out again for the Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team. I had an amazing time this past 6 months and would love the opportunity to stay and design some more with these fabulous stamps and other great products like Miracle Tape, High Gloss Embossing Powder and Kromecote Paper.

As part of this application we were asked to share what we thought represented our best everyday style. I have been stamping artistically for over a decade. I guess my favorite thing to do is what you see in the above project and in the projects below. I love to use my stamps as tools--I try to select my stamps not as a one time use but as something that I can use and enjoy many different ways. It may be a texture or an image or a saying. I will want to be able to use it for all sorts of paper crafting from card making to scrapbooking to altered projects to minis and of course to my latest passion Artist Trading Cards. I love to layer them, color them, impress them. VLVS not only offers a magnificent selection to allow me to celebrate every little occasion bit also a selection to feed my creative soul!

So I share with you...
My projects from the Mary Vogel Lozinak Blog Hop--This had two of my favorites, mixed media stamping and altered art. Follow the link to my post to see the rest of the ATCs and the little altered folder that I created to hold them.

Stamped Collage Mini Album--This recent project represents another of my passions--constructing mini albums. I find being able to create my papers with my stamps gives me a more cohesive project and allows me to tie together every embellishment as well. Follow the link to see the full tutorial and creation of this mini album.

Count Down to holidays--is a project that embraces my love for stamping on things that sit still too long and for crafting for my kids and family. Follow this link for just a taste of the possibilities of this project.
And of course I'm a card maker too...the holiday cards below are probably some of my favorite.
Remember there is only 1 more days left to enter your application for the Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team!
Coming up later in the month please join the Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team as we celebrate fall and Halloween with:

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed remembering these projects with me!

Welcome to my Zeen!

Today I want to share with a new publishing venture I'm trying to enhance how you, my readers, experience my projects. This is called a ZEEN...as in Magazine. It is an electronically delivered magazine containing projects by me!  In some cases such as the issue you see here, I will compile a selection of projects using a certain product into a collection In other issues, I will simply focus on one technique or giant project or I will share with you inspiration that I've come across from fellow crafters and artists. Each page of this issue has an image of the project with an introduction...when you select the link above the photo it takes you to my tutorial with complete instructions. In some cases it takes you to a video!
You will be able to connect to my Zeen from my blog--a special tab above labeled "My Zeen." You will also notice a tab to my Pinterest and to my Fan Page now--making it easier for you to connect with me! You also will find a button on my Fan page and a pin on my Pinterest Boards to connect to my zeen! I hope this helps make it easy for you to find it!
