The Midway!

if you are looking for my 31 Days of Halloween post it is here.

Happy Monday everyone! On the Globecraft&Piccolo Blog today I share a layout using the midway rides chipboard. My husband and daughter recently attended the State Fair of Texas and took some fabulous photos at the midway that I knew would be perfect with the midway chipboard. I created an 8×8" layout and layered the "rides" along the bottom. Deep Blue and Ruby Red Slippers EP were the perfect powders to coordinate with the red and blue neon of the midway! I hope you enjoy my layout!

Labor Day Layout

Happy Monday everyone! Today on the Globecraft and Piccolo Blog I share a 6×6" layout featuring the BBQ Fun Accents from the August Release and the Tire Tracks Stencil from the September Art Stencil Release at Sweetstamps.com!  I began by heat embossing my tools and grill with the Vintage Black Emboss Powder. I left the flame untouched so that I could come back with the 3D Enamel in Deep Red and Orange. All accents were set aside to cool. The BBQ was coated with Mars Black 3D Enamel.
On my scrapbook page, I stenciled with the adhesive fluid the Tire tracks on their side so that it looked like smoke! Skipping around on the stencil so that there is not full coverage in all areas adds to the smokey effect! I embossed with Mermaid Tears and when it cooled added White chalk powder to further enhance the smokey feel. I then went around the edges of the page with Vintage Black emboss powder. I completed the layout by matting my photo of the yummy steaks and layering the matted photo on top of the smoke and a strip of pattern paper. Next the Piccolo accents were layered on the layout. Finally I went around the edges with pen-doodling.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Thank you for stopping by today!

Firecrackers and sprockets with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer and Want2Scrap

The laser-cut cover and nest-a-bling
Happy Monday! Today I am sharing with you another awesome product from Want2Scrap--Sakura Hobby Crafts is teaming up with their products this month for their projects. I saw this laser-cut chipboard album in their inventory and immediately knew I wanted to use it for Will's Firecracker 100 photos. For the last 3 years Will has participated in an annual cycling race/ride that occurs in our area. His first ride was 10 miles, he was 9 and he rode with his Dad. His last ride, last year he rode 26 miles solo. I am always amazed at his determination for this sport and proud of his accomplishments. This album was perfect for sharing that story and creating for him a book of memories.

I hope you enjoy my project!

Supply List:Colors (inks & cardstock): Twilight, Garden Green, Orchid Bouquet, VersaMark
Paper & My Stickeaze: Floral Tapestry, vellum
Stamp Sets: Solo N, Solo O, Pure Love, Adore Lower Case, Rustic, [Solo E, Solo W for “new” on sticker strip]
Embellishments: cocoa colored organza ribbon, buttons, silver brads, twill tape, clear detail emboss powder
Other: glue dots, pop dots, acrylic blocks, 1/8” hole punch, black pen, xyron, liquid glue, scissors
Directions:
  1. Stamp “nice” circle from Solo N in 1st and 2nd generation with Twilight on Twilight.
  2. On dotted Floral Tapestry background paper, 2nd generation stamp Solo N in Twilight. Tear bottom of paper and tear vellum to approximately the same length.
  3. On Orchid Bouquet scrap, stamp 3 flowers from Solo N set in Twilight. Punch out with circle punch, edge circles with Twilight ink and tap lightly face down on inkpad. Add pop dots to back.
  4. Attach My Stickeaze tab to Garden Green mat. Attach photo.
  5. Adhere My Stickeaze strip to background page. Layer on photo—keeping room for journal box and circle accents.
  6. Attach journal box to page by hole punching all the way through the layers. Attach ribbon and make a bow.
  7. Stamp “new” using the smaller “solo” from Solo N, Solo E, and Solo W on the My Stickeaze strip. Attach a button [backed with glue dot].
  8. Write what is “new”—I used “teeth” but would be good for baby, pet, love, marriage…etc.
  9. Attach 3 circles above the picture.

Directions:
  1. With Rustic “LOVE” and Orchid Bouquet stamp love on the bottom middle of base Orchid Bouquet cardstock.
  2. With Twilight stamp “LOVE” from Pure Love set over Rustic “LOVE.”
  3. With Orchid Bouquet and hearts from Solo O stamp background of base.
  4. With Adore Lower Case stamp “oodles of” on right end of twill.
  5. With VersaMark stamp the “}” from Pure Love on the striped Tapestry background and emboss with Clear. Cut out. Tie cocoa ribbon on. Attach pop dots.
  6. With Twilight stamp the cancellation stamp randomly on the twilight square. With Veramark stamp the Solo O over the random stamping. Emboss with clear and cut out. Attach pop dots.
  7. Attach twill with brads below “LOVE” stamping. Attach “}” and “O”. Adhere button.
  8. To background attach lined background paper from Tapestry. Adhere vellum.
  9. Fold oblong tabs in half. Attach one side to the back of the base page with glue. Attach other side to top of Twilight mat with brads.
  10. Attach button to end of My Stickeaze photo turn and attach to mat. Use powder or another piece of paper on the back to “unsticky” the adhesive so that it will lift and not stay attached to the background. Attach another My Stickeaze accent to the side of the page.
