May Arts Retro Craft Challenge

\retrobanner
I am honored to be once again featured for the May Arts Ribbon Blog Retro Color Themed Craft Challenge! Hop on over and show me some love and see all the other fantastic projects!
The colors of the ribbons represented reminded me of the 50s, diners and bobby socks and girls in poodle skirts with their hair up tied in a wispy scarf, and scooters and bicycles with streamers flowing as they go.

This is my modern translation of the streamer/scarf. I used the 4 yummy ribbons that were sent to create the flowing "streamer scarf" and then added a checkered Rainbow Loom woven band and some Rainbow Loom Charms  of a mug of root beer, a hamburger and an ice cream soda with cherry on top!

TIP : To curl the blue sheer ribbon, I wrapped it around a pencil, zapped it with a heat tool until it was warm to touch. I allowed it to cool on the pencil and then pulled the pencil out and let the curl fall with its own weight.

My model is quite happy with her new wispy hair accessory!

Crafty Ribbons Challenge #15 | BIRTHDAY!!

if you are looking for my weekly challenge post for Delightful Challenges, click here.
Inspired by a ribbon/button bracelet that I found while patrolling flickr, I knew that for this Birthday themed challenge at Crafty Ribbons Challenge Blog I wanted to make a Birthday Flower Bracelet out of ribbons and felt. The flowers are built on a punched circle base and then layered with embroidery trimmed felt to form the centers. They are then attached with hot glue to the base --a grosgrain polka dotted ribbon and another felt circle is glued to the back of each flower. The bracelet can be tied on your wrist...I would also make for a cute headband. Thank you for looking!

Crafty Ribbons Challenge #13 | Paws for Thought

if you are looking for my weekly challenge post for Delightful Challenges, click here.

It's time now for a new Crafty Ribbons Challenge and this one is totally fun! When I saw the ribbons from the latest design team shipment I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I needed to make a princess puppy hair bow.
My daughter LOVES dogs. Christmas before last she asked Santa for a leash. When I asked her "why a leash?," she commented "for my dog of course!" We had a cat, a turtle and a frog--no dog. Santa in his infinite wisdom brought Fancy Pants a "dog". Emma Dog was a stuffed Build-A-Bear Yorkie and she had a blingy pink leash and a princess outfit.  Fancy Pants like-wise has several shirts with the princess theme and puppy themes. A princess puppy hair bow is almost a necessity!
I used these fun new puppy paw ribbons along with the princess crown ribbon and the "princess" ribbon. All ribbons are grosgrain ribbons. The finished bow is attached with hot glue to a clip so that it can be worn in the hair easily! Thank you for looking!

Crafty Ribbons Challenge #3 |BOO-tiful Halloween, Pretty Spooky!

Welcome to the 3rd Crafty Ribbons Challenge! I am this challenge's hostess and the theme is
BOO-tiful Halloween, Pretty Spooky!!
This challenge will run from 29th Sept 8.30am until 6pm 12th Oct.
We are making pretty and pretty spooky projects loaded with RIBBON! You will be amazed and inspired by all of the Design Teams' boo-tiful creations! I hope you enjoy mine!

When I was gearing up for this week's challenge, I just knew I wanted to use a bunch of Crafty Ribbon's Halloween ribbons to make a hairbow inspired by "the homecoming bow" on the Sweetpeas and Kisses blog. For this pony tail hair bow I attached 2 4-loop tails-down bows to a bundle of tails and a 2-loop tails-down bow. I completed the ribbon by adding some Crafty Ribbons buttons layered on top. The directions to folding the tails-down bows are at Sweetpeas and Kisses website...The ribbon of course is at non-other than Crafty Ribbons website!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you like my project! To see other awesome projects from the Crafty Ribbons Challenge Team hop over to the blogs below.
This weeks prize is pretty spooky!!
