Festive Friday #6 2♥12 | Dreaming of a Snowy Christmas

The Festive Friday Blog Hop is hosted by Terri Sproul. This bi-monthly blog hop features Holiday cards from many talented card crafters as we get our Christmas cards ready early this year. If you reached this stop from Terri's Blog Terri Sproul , then you are in the right spot--she is also the beginning of the blog!

For this card I used Viva Las Vegastamps!  and VLVS Ultra High Gloss Embossing Powder with Versamark to create the background. After embossing the snowflakes I stippled Close to my Heart Indian Corn Blue all over and wiped the melted embossing powder to reveal the white snowflakes. The sentiment and sleeping elf was stamped with Stewart Superior India Ink and colored using BIC Mark-Its. A little pompom was added to the elf hat for dimension. A sanded piece of Coredinations Cardstock matted the sentiment.

Festive Friday #4 2♥12 | Acrylic front Wonderland

The Festive Friday Blog Hop is hosted by Terri Sproul. This bi-monthly blog hop features Holiday cards from many talented card crafters as we get our Christmas cards ready early this year. If you reached this stop from Terri's Blog Terri Sproul , then you are in the right spot--she is also the beginning of the blog!

For this card I used a random piece of coredinations card  stock that had gotten wet and then when dried left some interesting pattering with the dye in the card stock--a happy whoopsie if you will. I used my favorite outline stickers by Starkraft on an acrylic 4" square and colored the outline of the trees black with India Ink by Stewart Superior. I then used Sakura Glitter Lacquer to color the trees and silver metallic lacquer to make snow mounds. I covered the snow mounds with Terri Sproul's new Ultra Fine Glitter. I added silver outline snowflakes and stars to the card  stock and attached the acrylic to the card stock with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer. I added more outlines snowflakes on top placing a crystal bling in each center. The acrylic front was added to a 5"square card base that had only a 2" front lip...so that the acrylic over hangs the lip of the card. I added a bit of polka-dotted green Crafty Ribbons Ribbon to the side for accent. I really enjoy how this fun little card turned out! I hope you do too.

The next stop on the hop is Chris! She always has great designs at Stinky Dog Designs!

if you enjoyed my Sakura craftyness, come back tomorrow for

Crafty Ribbons Ribbon, Delight Paperclay
.
For this card I chose a Viva Las VegaStamps! background to make the snow. I stamped over Wassail Basic Grey snow paper and layered more Basic Grey with torn edges to make "snow." I made a simple snow man with Delight Paperclay and stamped into him with Stampin Up Snowflake Flurries. Festive Friday #1 2♥12 | Thanks SNOW much!

Yes, I just put away the holidays in my house last weekend...it was hectic, it was crazy and i didn't grumble too much! But...I know I need to get started on my cards to have some more for next year. It was so much fun making cards throughout the year and there are so many ideas out there that I have not tried! With the growth of pinterest, I am finding more and more talented card makers out there that inspire my own card making.

This week's card is cased from a Sharon Langford at Designs by Sharon. She used her electronic cutting device to create this super cute snow globe card that I have chosen to instead make using my circle cutter and punches! I added a sentiment to the card with a digi stamp from Digital Delights by Louby Loo. I made him a thank you card for those times during the holidays when you need a thank you! I hope you enjoy looking!

Festive Friday #21 | Speckled Snow with AJs Digi Shoppe Digis

Welcome to Festive Friday #21!!! ONLY 1 MORE after today! The Festive Friday Blog Hop is hosted by Terri Sproul. This bi-monthly blog hop features Holiday cards from many talented card crafters as we get our Christmas cards ready early this year.
If you reached this stop from Becky's blog BC Designs , then you are in the right spot! If you would like to start from the beginning, you can return to Terri's blog

This card is made with a FREE Digi Stamp available through AJs Digi Shoppe--Amanda, the owner, is also a Festive Friday hopper! I cropped the free digi so I could make individual "stamps" to randomly place in a publisher file. Once I was happy with my placement, I printed out my snowflake paper on vellum. I then took a variety of wintry colored BIC Mark-Its and began stippling around the snowflakes on the back side of the vellum until I like the feel of it. I then flipped my snowflakes back over to gloss the front with Sakura Hobby Crafts 3D Crystal Lacquer. I love how the vellum came out. To finish off my card I attached the vellum to a piece of Kraft Card stock with white eyelets and added a fun printed grosgrain.

Thank you so much for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed my card! Now back to our regularly scheduled hop! The next stop on the hop is Laura Fisher's blog. If you get lost on the way, the entire list is below!

Festive Friday #20 | A Gift for You

Welcome to Festive Friday #20!!! ONLY 2 MORE after today! WOW...November already?!? This has been an amazing year and I'm so honored to be in this bi-monthly hop with these amazing crafters!

For this quick and easy card all you need is some festive card stock, ribbon and a simple tag! I have tons of cards I like to send out and I always pick a design that is time-consuming and end up not finishing as many cards as i would like. I always have "in-town" cards that I create and this would make an amazing in-town card that could be hand-delivered so as not to squish the bow.
I folded my ½ sheet of card stock cut longways at 2¾" from both sides folding the card in to the center--a gate fold. I matted a piece of white card stock for the interior stamped sentiment [you could print out sentiments on your computer or pen one yourself. I placed a hand-tied bow around the card like a present. It's able to be slipped off so it does not have to be untied.

Thank you so much for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed my card! Now back to our regularly scheduled hop! The next stop on the hop is Laura Fisher's blog. If you get lost on the way, the entire list is below!

Festive Friday #19 | Santa Claus Lane

Welcome to Festive Friday #19!!! ONLY 3 MORE after today! I can't believe the year is approaching end at warp speed! Thankfully, by participating in this blog hop all year long, I have a collection of Christmas cards to send out!!!

Today I am using some digital stamps that I came across early in my discovery of digital stamping. These [the super cute reindeer and the sentiment] come from Nell of Melon Headz Illustrations. I love the images that Nell creates and especially her word art. As many of you know reindeer ARE my favorite!! I had to have this cute Rudolph and Santa Claus Lane sentiment.
I colored the sign on the sentiment and Rudolph entirely with the colored lacquers from Sakura Hobby Crafts. The ribbon embellishments are Crafty Ribbons. The green ink is Wild Wasabi from Stampin' Up!
Thank you so much for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed my card! Now back to our regularly scheduled hop! The next stop on the hop is Laura Fisher's blog. If you get lost on the way, the entire list is below!

Festive Friday #17 | New Toys

Happy Friday everyone!! It's time for the Festive Friday Blog Hop hosted by Terri Sproul again. This bi-monthly blog hop features Holiday cards from many talented card crafters as we get our Christmas cards ready early this year.
If you reached this stop from Becky's blog BC Designs , then you are in the right spot! If you would like to start from the beginning, you can return to Terri's blog

I titled this week's challenge New Toys as on my card I used two of my new toys to complete the project. If you follow my blog you know I recently added to my Design Team accomplishments; I've become a Design Team Member for both the Sakura Hobby Crafts Blog and the Crafty Ribbons Challenge Blog! I'm very excited and honored to be on all 4 design teams. My other two design teams are digital design teams and so my treasure from Digital Delights by Louby Loo and from AJs Digi Shoppe come to my email! When I receive the new releases, my family can attest, I squeal out loud as I'm always so excited to start using the new images and papers.
Well...waiting on snail mail to get your new toys is agony BUT...what fun toys I got this last week!!! Ali and Tony at Crafty Ribbons in the UK sent me a wonderful parcel full of yummy holiday ribbons of all varieties...for this card I chose this cool Twill Merry Christmas printed ribbon...it is the PERFECT size to fit across the card! I have TONS of ribbons to play with and this was my very first small project with my 1st new toy!! We are pampered with this design team! I love all the ribbons and can't wait to share many more projects with them!!!

Later that same week I received a smallish box from California--from Sakura Hobby Crafts! Inside was a huge bottle of the 3D Crystal Lacquer that you already know I love and that brings the shine to the eyes of my digital and traditional stamped cards! I also used the 3D Crystal lacquer as an adhesive for my prisma glitter for the glistening snow. Also inside was a surprise that I will reveal next week AND some 3D Crystal Color Lacquer which was perfect for coloring the bows on my House Mouse Stamp! I love it because it is completely transparent and just colored! I love this product and how easy it is to use the little tubes that it comes it! They are perfect for pinpoint application and the tube, while it seems not much bigger than say a BIC Mark-it, it has an ENORMOUS amount of product in it that will no doubt last me quite a while! Super fun! The folks at Sakura and our DT Leader Terri certainly spoil us too!

Thank you to all the folks responsible for all of my Design Teams, it is an honor and a pleasure working for each of you and with my teammates!! I couldn't be more thrilled!! I love what I get to do for you and I hope it shows.

Thank you so much for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed my card! Now back to our regularly scheduled hop! The next stop on the hop is Laura Fisher's blog. If you get lost on the way, the entire list is below!

Festive Friday #16| HO HO HO

Happy Friday everyone!! It's time for the Festive Friday Blog Hop hosted by Terri Sproul again. This bi-monthly blog hop features Holiday cards from many talented card crafters as we get our Christmas cards ready early this year.
If you reached this stop from Becky's blog BC Designs , then you are in the right spot! If you would like to start from the beginning, you can return to Terri's blog.
This Festive Friday I wanted to try another fast card only this time using some of my other favorite toys...chipboard, distress inks and stains, Sakura Hobby Craft 3D Crystal Lacquer...and Bazzill Basics cardstock! YUM!
The letters were craft-colored chipboard from a pre-cut set of letters. I sanded off the connecting tabs and then covered the top and sides with Barn Red distress ink. Then I stamped in Peeled Paint distress ink the swirly background stamp that I also stamped on the light green card stock for the back ground. I squeezed on Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer to gloss up the letters and add some cool dimension that can be viewed in the photo angle below! The letters were placed on the light green that had been edged with Peeled Paint stain and stamped.
love this angle where you can see all the yummy 3D goodness of the crystal lacquer
The letters were adhered with foam tape, and the edge of the Kraft base kissed with Barn Red distress ink. I hope you enjoyed my Ho-Ho-Ho Card! Thank you for stopping by!

Festive Friday #15 | Quick & Easy cards with Digital Delights!

Happy Friday everyone!! It's time for the Festive Friday Blog Hop hosted by Terri Sproul again. This bi-monthly blog hop features Holiday cards from many talented card crafters as we get our Christmas cards ready early this year.

As summer comes to a close, the year forward just SPEEDS up for me! It is with this in mind that I bring you ideas that are quick  and  easy and that make fun holiday cards!! Digital Delights by Louby Loo has introduced into the store pre-colored holiday 3D Decoupage and Pyramage worksheets. You simply cut [and in a few cases diecut with frame dies] the shapes and stack them together with foam tape. It makes a super cute focus piece that can be added to a card with a simple sentiment!

Below I've used several of her designs to create quick & easy cards! I hope you enjoy them!

Festive Friday #13 | Blingy Snow Friends

It's time for the Festive Friday Blog Hop hosted by Terri Sproul again. This bi-monthly blog hop features Holiday cards from many talented card crafters as we get our Christmas cards ready early this year.

If you reached this stop from Becky's blog BC Designs , then you are in the right spot! If you would like to start from the beginning, you can return to Terri's blog.

For this card I used several of my favorite elements, stamps, markers, ink, and BLING. The background cardstock was stamped with Stampin up snowflakes in White Craft Stampin Up ink. The Snow friend was stamped Ranger Archival Ink and colored with Stampin Up Stamp and Write Markers. The circle was edged with Tumbled Glass Distres ink and the sky was stippled with the same. The Snow friends sentiment was colored with Stamp and Write Markers as well. The Snow Friends Sentiment and image was a Close to my Heart Set. The bling was a pre-made swirl that is super easy to apply. The snowflakes and ground on the circle were highlighted with prismaglitter applied with quickie glue pen!

I hope you enjoyed my card! Thank you for stopping by!
