leslierahye's Thankful for those who have Served 2♥13

Good morning! Happy Veteran's Day! This is a day to remember our service men and woman--to thank them for the freedoms we have because of the service THEY gave. Thank you.

Recently for a project at school my son was asked who in his family were veterans. I asked my mom's help in creating a list because I knew the two men pictured here were, and my uncle [most recently]. But there were many in our family that we were leaving out. A few hours later, we had a list--over 20 in our families have served from World War I to present day. OVER 20! It's incredible to me that so many of our family fought hard for this country...almost every branch of service is represented.
Today I am sharing with you my grandfathers. Without these men, I would not have had my parents and I would not be here. I love and appreciate them very much and miss them every day. For the hop today I created Altered Trading Cards with vintage photos of them in their uniforms--they were very handsome!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I would love to hear about your own veterans in the comments! Land of the Free, Because of the Brave! Be sure to check out the stories and projects on the rest of the hop!

  1. Love these!!! My husband served in the US Army and my Uncle in the Marines during the Korean war. My cousin Barbara was in the Navy. I'm not really sure how many more. Now I want to find out if there is any more in my family who served! Great post!
