leslierahye's Earth Day Blog Hop 2♥12

Upcycled Craft Containers
Welcome to leslierahye's Earth Day Blog Hop 2♥12! This is the 1st blog hop that I've hosted that is entirely devoted to upcycled crafting. I feel that to protect our earth for generations to come it is important that we as crafters be able to renew, reuse and recycle--or upcycle as the crafty would say! Earth Day is today and my crafty friends and I are providing you with some inspiration! I LOVE upcycled crafting in all it's forms and this amazing group of 15 artists take my breath away with their creative crafting! I am truly honored to call them my co-hoppers!!! Be sure to take time to go to each blog, view their amazing projects and be inspired to create you own unique upcycled items--AND be sure to leave some love...there are chances to win prizes along the way!
I have created some fun craft containers for my many crafty tools! I am forever looking for inexpensive ways to containerize my craft items and find that I have many very unique items that are often difficult to find a home for. I love containerizing and found it both indulgent and fun to make some one of a kind upcycled containers for my crafting! I hope you enjoy them. These began as cans of soup and beans and a ½ gallon carton of milk and some packing material--look at them now! lovely!

Gratuitous shot of the other side of the carton!

On the 1st crafty gig in April I did an upcycled crafty show where my daughter and I showed the beginning of creating my fun storage supplies for my crafty tools!! I hope you enjoy the show, we certainly did! Included in the images above are the projects started on my show that day!

Paper-covered containers made on the show

A few details of Sam's can
I went with just tangling the top and bottom in the end!
I am giving away a box of goodies to start your own upcycled crafting! I have so much fun collecting things to create upcycled crafts and I am so excited to share with you some of my bounty! 1 flat-rate box LOADED with a crafter's dream of remnants, packing materials, groovy folders, brochures and some surfaces to put them on! Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed what you saw! Be sure to stop by all the links on the list below and see my co-hoppers amazing work!

  1. I have also had to incorporate LOTS of recycles in my stash. Cheap white glue and 3 cereal box sides is medium chipboard :) Ornaments and decorations cut from aluminum cans for mobiles and sun catchers... Good stuff, Leslierahye, off to visit some other upcyclers!

  5. What an amazing idea for a milk jug! I love how you used it horizontally rather that just cutting the top off!

  11. Another fabulous bloghop Leslie!!! I love your beautifully upcycled canisters - especially the 1/2 gallon. This will be great for me to toss all those little sections of ribbon too short for the spools. Happy Earth Day ; )
