Paper Cranes for Japan

Helping Japan one crane at a time

On March 11,2011, Sendai, Japan suffered a massive earthquake which resulted in a devastating tsunami along 180 miles of coast.  The devastation of this land is unbelievable. In reponse, Students Rebuild partnered with DoSomething.org to provide a way for students worldwide to help support their peers in Japan.
It's simple. Make paper cranes. The Bezos Family Foundation has pledged $2 for each crane recieved to the Architecture for Humanity's reconstruction effort in Japan. By reaching 100,000 cranes, the Bezos Family Foundation will donate $200,000 to the efforts in Japan and the cranes will be woven into an art installation as a "symbolic gift from students around the globe to Japanese youth."

I went this morning to fold cranes with the children at my son's school! We followed the directions on the Student's Rebuild website to complete the cranes which will be mailed next week! The kids LOVED the idea that their art would help bring much-needed relief to victims in Japan. What a great day!

I would like to offer a special thanks to Staples Stephenville for their help with this project! Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed your visit!
