A Spring Ornament

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today on the Globecraft and Piccolo Blog I share a fabulous Spring ornament. This project features the new pearl gel enamels along with some great Piccolos including the Chocolate Bunnies, the Tiny Flourishes and the Daisies.  I hope you enjoy!

I adhered the chipboard pieces to book paper with Glastique I coated the Bunny with Burnt Umber Gel Enamel. once the frame was dry, I trimmed it out, sanded the edges and then brushed on a thin layer of the Burnt Umber Gel Enamel to tint the frame brown.

The color on the flowers was added with a brush to get all the details of the dainty daisies.

Edges of the frames and the center frame for the ornament were heat embossed with Victorian Bronze.
Punches were diecut from the Bunnies and Chicks Cheery Lynn Border. I used book paper covered with heat set Aged Pink Enamel. They were added to the globe ornament for "confetti". The Bunny and daisies were added to the globe and the whole thing was glued shut with Beacon 3-in-1 to hold it tight. A pink hemp string was added to the ornament for a hanger.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Thank you for stopping by today!

Hello!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today on the Cheery Lynn Blog I share a cute shaped greeting card with the January New Release Bird House, my new favorite Sweet Williams Strip and the Tiny Flower Kit. Making shaped cards with the stackers is super easy. Fold your card stock and line up the fold to the inside of the cutting blade. Cut your shape. The fold will still be intact. Layer stackers on top and add you card front and embellish! For this card, I cut everything out of white watercolor paper and hand colored certain elements to match my digital image. I finished off the card with a bit of Wink of Stella glitter on the dragonfly wings, the sentiment and the edges of the flowers.

A Fishy Tale ATC

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today on the Globecraft and Piccolo Blog I am sharing a fun embossed ATC with new release gels and Piccolos and some fun techniques. I hope you enjoy!
I begin by layering and mixing various Emboss Powders on my ATC base--the initial powders were adhered with emboss adhesive but the remaining powders were added while the enamel was hot! I added Mossy Glen and Starry Sky to a base of Mermaid Tears and Aged White. I embossed the funny Bubble background with Mermaid Tears and added it to the background while the enamel was hot~it is basically embedded into the background.

Micro beads were added to a few of the bubbles and held in place with a glob of glossy glastique.

I needed orange enamel gel so I mixed the new pearls together to create orange
I purposely globbed on the orange gel for a special technique that leaves lots of texture.
Once the enamel is dry to the touch I zap it with the heat tool making it bubble and pop! It creates the most fun texture. I used this technique this past Halloween with green to make bubbling potions and creepy backgrounds for cards. In this instance it gives the fish a scaly appearance when Glossy Glastique is added to the top.
note: the gloss and shine of these make photographing difficult and the bubbles appear cloudy despite them being clear.

I hope you enjoy my project!

Hopping for Spring

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today on the Cheery Lynn Blog I created this simple note card today with one of my favorite Spring images--the bunny. The Tiny Bubbles Border and my favorite daisies make this card easy to be mailed. The edges of my focal stamped image and the bubbles and the card itself were aged a bit with distress ink. A simple burlap bow and tiny pearls for the flowers finish off the card. When I send cards like this with a small amount of dimension through the mail, I either use a deep envelop--more like a small box--or I place a blank piece of card stock over my decorated front to allow the post office to run it through their machines without eating up the card.

Sing a Song of Spring

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today on the Cheery Lynn Blog I bring you into the Spring spirit! Here in Texas we just went through Daylight Savings change where we "spring" forward our clocks. We are a few days away from the seasonal change to spring and a few weeks away from the Easter holiday as well. This card will help you celebrate all things spring!
I cut the musical staff mesh border and trimmed it to the size that would fit the large Sentiment Tag 1 die. The remaining piece of diecut was then cut in half again to line up the straight lines of the music staffs. Spray adhesive made adhering the mesh to the background easy. The frame was layered with eggs and flowers to inspire the feelings of spring! I hope you enjoy my card!
