Today I made a fun texurey ATC by building a base of string and tissue paper with Crystal Lacquer. I inked up Kromecote and stamped Frankie, the moon and the sentiment with Black Paris Ink and heat embossed them with the High Gloss EP. I bubbled up some lacquer on the background for some addd texture and  fussy cut out Frankie and the moon, and block cut the words adding them to the card with Lacquer and foam tape.

 For this project:
 distressed inks
black ink [Paris Trunk Ink]
tissue paper & string

I love my project today! Not only is it using one of my favorite stamps--the flock of bats--but also because it uses my new addiction--EcoArtBoard!!! If that was not enough, it's also a wearable!!! Too much fun! I started with a soft lime green card stock. Stamped the Oct. 31 stamp in Black and the bats in a dark violet--double stamping to give the illusion of lots of bats flying. I adhered the cardstock to the board with white glue and then with versamark to help stick the first layer, I applied several layers of High Gloss Emboss Enamel to give a faux finish to the piece. I attached beads and wire and a bail to finish off the dangles. I hope you enjoy my project!

 For this project:
 violet dye ink
black ink [Paris Trunk Ink]
card stock
white glue
wire & beads

Today I created a "scene" type altered book page for you! With these types of stamps it's very easy to create a journal page or altered book type of layout. I started with dye inks for the base and began layering on stamps stamped in browns and blacks for added depth. Some spots of color became the "color" for the image. Repetitive stamping created the illusion of fall trees, a long iron fence and the flight of a cave full of bats! I love how the various images can work together to create the scene I hope you enjoy my project!

 For this project:
 assorted dye inks
black ink [Paris Trunk Ink]
Book for altering & spare book paper
white glue

I created a stamped collage background in the same manner as I did here I then added the nevermore and raven stamps in black for the cover. The paper was attached with Miracle Tape. The purpley foil was added to the hinge seams, the base of the box and to the pencil using Miracle Tape as well. The note cards were stamped using a torn paper mask for the corner. Today I am sharing with you a layered card that began on Kromecote where I layered on Halloween colors and stamped the Harlequin Diamond Background in black Ranger archival. On vellum I stamped the sentiment with the other two images in black Ranger archival and then sprinkled with Ultra High Gloss EP and carefully heat set so as to not ripple my medium weight vellum. I then colored the tombstone and the moon from the backside of the vellum. Brads hold the vellum to the card. Miracle Tape holds the layers to the card. I hope you enjoy my project!

leslierahye's very fall steampunk blog hop

Happy Fall Y'all!! Welcome to my Very Fall Steampunk Blog Hop! I am celebrating the change of seasons from summer to fall with my favorite steampunk friends!! I hope you enjoy our projects!!
I LOVE fall--the weather, school activities, nature, colors. It's just amazing how beautiful the world becomes with all the colors and the crisp nip of the morning air. Usually being in Texas our seasons are a combination of heat, more heat, less heat, ice--but THIS year we have been very fortunate to have amazing fall weather and I'm loving it!!
For my household fall means BUSY schedules with school, scouting, craft shows, sports and 4H. My message center stays loaded with fliers and announcements. Some extra steampunky magnets to hold everything is definitely welcome!  I created these fun magnets with my favorite ArtEcoBoard, Prima Craftsman paper, Junkyard Trinkets, Maya Road metal flowers and a variety of washers from the hardware store!
I find that with all these busy schedules, my steampunk magnets help keep me organized and like the stamp on my steampunky artist trading card says, if i "map out a course of action and follow it to an end" we come out the other side of Fall with our sanity intact!
Thank you for stopping by!! I hope you enjoy my projects that help me with the changing of the season! Be sure to check out the rest of the creations from my amazingly crafty friends!!

Viva Las VegaStamps! DT Tryout

My post today is two-fold.

Part One.Today on the Viva Las Vegastamps! Blog I share with you how the tremendous selection of stamps and sayings at VLVS make it my favorite stamp store for all my little celebrations! I've created a series of ATCs and a little magnetic tile for the little occasions in September that I love to celebrate! I pulled from my VLVS stash and found stamps to celebrate National Sewing Month, Talk Like a Pirate Day, Elephant Appreciation Day and the invention of the Safety Pin! How fun is that! The 19000+ stamps available through Viva Las Vegastamps! make celebrating EVERY occasion possible! Hop on over to the blog and check out my mini celebrations.

Part Two. I am also taking the opportunity to try out again for the Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team. I had an amazing time this past 6 months and would love the opportunity to stay and design some more with these fabulous stamps and other great products like Miracle Tape, High Gloss Embossing Powder and Kromecote Paper.

As part of this application we were asked to share what we thought represented our best everyday style. I have been stamping artistically for over a decade. I guess my favorite thing to do is what you see in the above project and in the projects below. I love to use my stamps as tools--I try to select my stamps not as a one time use but as something that I can use and enjoy many different ways. It may be a texture or an image or a saying. I will want to be able to use it for all sorts of paper crafting from card making to scrapbooking to altered projects to minis and of course to my latest passion Artist Trading Cards. I love to layer them, color them, impress them. VLVS not only offers a magnificent selection to allow me to celebrate every little occasion bit also a selection to feed my creative soul!

So I share with you...
My projects from the Mary Vogel Lozinak Blog Hop--This had two of my favorites, mixed media stamping and altered art. Follow the link to my post to see the rest of the ATCs and the little altered folder that I created to hold them.

Stamped Collage Mini Album--This recent project represents another of my passions--constructing mini albums. I find being able to create my papers with my stamps gives me a more cohesive project and allows me to tie together every embellishment as well. Follow the link to see the full tutorial and creation of this mini album.

Count Down to holidays--is a project that embraces my love for stamping on things that sit still too long and for crafting for my kids and family. Follow this link for just a taste of the possibilities of this project.
And of course I'm a card maker too...the holiday cards below are probably some of my favorite.
Remember there is only 1 more days left to enter your application for the Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team!
Coming up later in the month please join the Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team as we celebrate fall and Halloween with:

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed remembering these projects with me!
