Dilly Duck and Ladybug Friend Card with DigitalDelights by LoubyLoo

I LOVE this challenge! I collect a lot of scraps...I try not to keep anything I can't send back through my printer...so that usually limits me to no smaller than 3×5". That size is good for card making. I will also keep pieces that are a few inches across and LONG [like 12"]. I scrapbook in an 8½×11" size and since most paper on the market now is only in 12×12" I get a lot of scraps! I love the long skinny 1" piece for running through my BigShot and making into quill strips or using for punchie art. and the pieces cut making the paper 8½" wide are great for cards.
I store my scraps in a little basket and when the basket starts to get full, I usually sit down and punch out some fun shapes or die cut them and craft with my kids, make some cards or some tags.

I hope you enjoy this cute card that I made for you!

Weekly Challenge #9 | Use New Artoo Tangle

As we celebrate the return to good health of baby Artoo in Laura's family, we are challenged to use the New Tangle called Artoo, developed by our Diva. To follow the weekly challenge and to get the details on the new tangle, go to Laura's blog here.
Artoo Tile rotated into a mandala!
Above is my tangle with the New Artoo Tangled right in...I created my tile [1/4th of this image]...and could not decide how I wanted to turn my tile. As I played with the rotation of the tangle in Publisher, the above design developed! I could not be more thrilled! I LOVE this image! I hope you enjoy it as well!
So glad you are better Artoo! Thank you for looking!

Weekly Challenge #8 | Replay 2 with Heart

This has been a particulary difficult week for many in my life and The Diva was no exception to that. For the full story read her blog post on the I am the Diva Challenge Blog.  My heart goes out to Laura and her family and to all the families in my life touched by anniversaries of death, death, loss, and difficult times this week. You all are in my heart and in my thoughts.
Laura, or rather Laura's husband, suggested that for this week's challenge we revisit past challenges and use two of them to create a heart. I spent this tangle meditiating not just to Laura but to all in my life that needed some positive warm energy in their lives, to heal physically, mentally and spiritally. I chose to replay my two favorite challenges, Orbs and Ixcorus. And springing from all over are hearts in various sizes. I hope this tangle brings you all the healing you need. {{{hugs}}}
Thank you for looking.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

Digital Stamps by Digital Delights by Louby Loo
It is my extreme honor to announce to you that I have been named as a new designer for Delightful Challenges at Digital Delights by Louby Lou. Wendy [AKA Louby Loo] designs the cutest digi stamps and I love working with them. You've seen them on a previous card [You Had me at M♥♥!] and now I get the pleasure of working with them every week as a designer! I'm very excited and I hope you enjoy all the cards and papercrafts that I bring you with Digital Delights stamps!
This card uses Darby the Duck and the blank ticket in the Ticket Sentiment Set. I printed out 2 copies of Darby each in yellow and orange and 1 copy of my sentiment in pale blue. I trimmed out an extra head and wing out of the yellow and an extra hair and beak which I used as a template to make a 3-d beak by folding some orange in half and trimming around the beak on the fold. I used chalks to highlight the edge of the cardstock and used a zig pen to penstitch around each element of the body. I highlighted the eyes with a white opaque pen and diamond glaze for the dots in her eye. I layered the pieces and added dimension with foam tape.
I brought the ticket blank into my Publisher program and added a text window inside the ticket. I sized the font to fill the space for the word "Hi!" [font is Clink--a free font found at dafont.com]. The layered background was embossed using a Tim Holtz Texture Fadz. Buttons Galore buttons were stacked and tied with a piece of silver jewelry wire.

Tumbled Tangled Tile | a video

After the encouragement of several online friends over at Creative Ed-ventures and the Sisterhood of Papercrafts, I have moved forward on my year-long trek to amp-up my creativity. I have made a video of the process of tangling on a marble tile.

I hope you enjoy this, my first video, showing how I created the zentangled tile!

Sn-ICE tangles

Well we are starting Sn-Ice day #3 in Texas--snow+ice+bitter cold. So, how do we pass the day in our house on Sn-ICE days? well, we watch some movies, cook lots of comfort food, and draw--or more specifically we TANGLE!!
Below is a zentangle my son [nearly11] did today--I love it! His tangle has birds of prey in them! Great work Will!

Weekly Challenge #7 | Breathe

This is an awesome challenge for us tanglers this week from Laura at I am the Diva Challenge Blog.
Being a partaker of yoga, I completely follow Laura's logic and made myself comfortable in my zone, put on some music, lit a little nag champa incense and proceeded to b.r.e.a.t.h.e.
Very relaxing and at the same time totally stimulated to create my tangle! I hope you enjoy it! I made a point to use a lot of new-to-me tangles that I've barely used in my work.
B.R.E.A.T.H.E.
This tangle comes with the reminder to Relax. Breathe. Smile.

Tangling on a Tuesday

Yesterday we were sniced in with the kids [snice=snow + ice] and so I took the time to do some event planning and crafting for my son's upcoming 11th birthday party. Also, rather than working on Laura's challenge for this week, I decided to just relax and revisit last week's inspiration...I am loving the ixorus tangle and was inspired by all of the submissions at the I am the Diva Blog last week to investigate this more. Below is one interpretation of Ixorus that I'd like to share with you...I'm sure there are more to come...this little tangle pattern has gotten under my skin!

Samantha's Dragonoligist Party | 2010

My nearly 4 year old expressed to me that for her 4th birthday she would like a Dragon Party. As I discussed this further with her, she wanted to dig up dragon remains in the back yard like a paleontologist would and do some dragon crafts--make a necklace, paint an egg. So began the planning for a not just a party but an event!
I take pride every year in creating unique one of a kind invitations for my children's parties and knew that this party invite could not be like any I had created before. After much searching through dragon books, I decided that her invitation needed to take the form of a newspaper announcing the discovery of Dragon Remains!
To create this I downloaded an old map of our area, some photos of paleontologist's tools and a skeleton of a dragon [which would later serve as pattern for the skeleton that got planted in the back yard for our budding dragonologists to find]. The newspaper is complete with the article about the discovery, ads, and classifieds--where the actual invite can be viewed under the Employment Opportunities section!

I'm sharing the invite with you today, other elements of this birthday party will be shared in weeks to come.
Thank you for looking and I look forward to your feedback.
